CIRCUS MAXIMUS
The nearby Circus Maximus was once the ancient Roman stadium where it dangerous chariot races took place.

THE TREVI FOUNTAIN
The Trevi Fountain is the largest the Baroque fountain in Rome, and featured in many classic movies such as La Dolce Vita and Three Coins in a Fountain. Legend has it if you toss a coin over your shoulder into the Trevi fountain you will be granted a return visit to Rome. All the visitors who have come back to Rome swear by it!
THE SPANISH STEPS
The Spanish Steps is an elegant 18 century winding the stairway that unfurls to connect Piazza di Spagna below to the French Church Trinita dei Monti above.
The fountain in the square below that looks like a large boat is called Fontana Della Barcaccio, ( Fountain of the Old Boat) attributed to Pietro Bernini, the father of the famous sculptor and architect Gian Lorenzo Bernini.
Scenes from the Spanish steps were featured in the classic movie Roman Holiday (Vacanze Romane) with Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck.
THE VATICAN
